The Paisley Silk Shiraz was picked from a single vineyard site in the North-Western part of the Barossa, not far from the famous Kalimna vineyards. This vineyard was specially chosen because it is in a cooler part of the Barossa so the grapes hang longer and are picked later. The cooler site, combined with the stony/clay soils produce a more elegant style of Barossa Shiraz. There is still the typical rich Barossa fruit, but with some cooler climate spice, complexity and a fine tannin structure.
The Paisley Velvet Grenache was picked from a vineyard at the Southern end of the Barossa which has classic Grenache growing soil, a sandy loam. Grenache vines planted in this soil type produce some amazing quality wine. The 70 year old vines this wine is made from have very low crops, with only a few bunches per vine, resulting in a concentrated, textural and complex wine
.2018 'Boombox Shiraz Medium to deep red. There is lifted sweet berry fruit on the nose with a lick of chocolate and lovely sweet spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The approachable palate has ripe summer berries with hints of musk and liquorice. The creamy oak adds to the mouthfeel and richness of the wine. The wine finishes with silky soft tannins and good length of berry fruit. Drink young or loose in the cellar for a couple of years. VINEYARDSThe Boombox is a blend of fruit from our own vineyard in Angaston and a vineyard in the North-Western part of the Barossa. There is still the typical rich Barossa fruit, but with some cooler climate spice, complexity and a fine tannin structure.
2018 Turntable Shiraz
The blend is 55% Grenache, 23% Shiraz and 22% Mataro. The colour is mid red, with lifted bright fruits of raspberry and plenty of floral notes including lavender and rose petal.
The medium bodied palate has a voluptuous palate with up front flavours of raspberry and wild strawberries. These are further accented with hints of toasty oak, cinnamon/nutmeg, pepper, and hazelnut with flinty matchstick notes. The mid palate is rich and full, with lovely richness and soft velvety tannins. The wine finishes fine and long with berry fruit and savoury notes. Drink now or over the next five years.
