2016 Gaelic Connection Clare Valley Shiraz/Cabernet
93/100pts James Halliday
“Deep crimson-purple: combinations of some or all of these varieties have always prospered in the Clare Valley, Wendouree and Leasingham Bin 56 being examples. This ticks the boxes set by those great wines. Deep crimson-purple, red and black berry fruits hold hands, encouraged by ripe tannins. 93/100 points.” – James Halliday, The Wine Companion
“Deep perfume of choc-berry, liqourice, Dr Pepper soda, sweet herbs and cedary oak, but all well meshed and attractive. Smooth, luscious feel in palate. Neck oil of the highest order showing sweet fruit, gently spicy oak, though the finish the wine thins out a touch quickly to carry the energy of the molten flow much longer. A sweeter, riper approach to the wine too. Good lush feel. 92/100 points.“– Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
